Experience in every layer

Launched in 2020, Universel draws on three decades of experience in luxury jersey and knitwear. Its idea of ‘sport and couture’ brings ease of movement together with attention to fabric and construction. The collections are designed for comfortable layering, with pieces that can be worn from day into evening.

The design process begins in Paris, where the team develops the lines and proportions of each collection. The garments are then cut, sewn and finished in Portugal. This connection between Parisian design and Portuguese making defines the label’s approach to everyday clothing, with the feel of the fabric at its centre.
