A tailor’s beginning

Founded in 1993, Beate Heymann grew out of its designer’s training in bespoke menswear and her studies at Berlin-Weißensee. She began her tailoring career in television in Berlin, where working with distinctive fabrics helped shape her approach to design. Her first independent pieces were made at the kitchen table of her Rostock home.

Experimenting with materials and shapes remains at the heart of the label’s story. In the house’s own account, each collection begins with the discovery of fabrics and ideas, which are gradually developed into a complete wardrobe. From its studio in Rostock-Warnemünde, the business grew from one designer’s work into an internationally represented fashion house.
